A Few Of Our Home Waters
The Lower Owens River.
The Lower Owens River offers  year round fishing.  It is primarily a winter fishery because  the flows are generally too high in the summer months. This river runs from the Pleasant Valley Reservoir, through Bishop and on past Big Pine. We fish mostly the upper reaches as these are designated wild Brown Trout water. It is not uncommon to catch over 20 wild Browns in a day with the possibility of some great dry fly fishing along the way. We walk and wade this river and offer  drift boat trips as well. Fishing is best from February-April.
Hot Creek
Hot Creek is  the most famous fishery in our area, with between 11,000 and 12,000 wild Rainbow and Brown Trout per mile, you can see why!  It is a wonderful place to teach beginners and to work on some of the more technical aspects of the sport with the more experienced anglers. Hot Creek is where we do the fishing portion of our beginner classes. Come see why so many people LOVE to fish this creek!
Crowley Lake is certainly the place to go in the Mammoth area if you are looking for Big Fish!  Mostly known for it's incredibly strong and large Rainbows, this lake produces some very nice Brown and Cutthroat Trout as well.
The Upper Owens River has had a few tough years lately, but is rapidly returning to the incredible fishery that it has been known to be for generations of fishermen. In the spring, this river offers some of the best Big Rainbow,  fishing in the area as well as large Browns in the Fall.
The San Joaquin River is definitely one of the most beautiful places that we fish. On the very edge of the Back Country, it is the fishery where you can catch a Brooke, Rainbow, Brown and Golden Trout all in the same day on the same river! Come see if you can get a "Sierra Grand Slam".
The East Walker River has long been known as one of the premier trophy trout waters of the west.  With some of the biggest Brown Trout that you will find in any river in the area, it offers great opportunities for large Rainbows as well.
The West Walker River is primarily a stocked fishery, but has good numbers of Rainbow, Cutthroat and even some Brown and Brooke Trout. It is also a beautiful place to spend a day of fly fishing and a great place to learn!
